Many schools in rural areas have dilapidated structures like these in pictures
This is a latrine structure no longer functioning awaiting a new structure.
The education infrastructures in Uganda especially in rural areas is so much neglected which has led to poor performances of pupils. Despite the fact that the government introduced universal education, the level of education in rural areas has still remained remote with poor or no school structures, like classrooms, sanitation facilities, poor salaries and teachers housing. This in turn has called on the NGOs to come in and give a hand to vulnerable communities to improve on the education environment.
Schools like this when its a rainy season there are no classes .
People Help people a non for profit organisation in Germany came up to support Namulonge Primary School in Uganda through improving their Sanitation and Hygiene and building more classrooms for the children and so far the project implementation has progress through phase 1 awaiting phase 2.
Ground level of phase 1
This will in return help in the enrollment of more pupils in school and also improve the education environment in the village of Namulonge where 60% of the pupils study under trees and dilapidated houses with no or poor sanitation facilities.
